Documentary - My initial Idea

For the unit we were asked to come up with an idea for a 10 minute doc for the abc with the overall theme of Teen Spirit.

My initial idea was to do with prosthetics and young people, I got this idea from watching White Rabbit Project as there was a episode where a young woman had a motorised arm which allowed her to do archery. she had been an amputee since birth and i thought it would be a good story following a teenager as they go through life.

Doing further research on the subject i discovered how the NHS provided prosthetics were uncomfortable and not aesthetically pleasing. I found a website where owners of 3D printers would print better looking limbs for children with some even using Arduino's (cheap electronic controllers) to motorise digits or joints.

My idea was to find an amputee and a 3d printer owner who would print the arm for the amputee and we document the journey, we would talk to an expert on amputees and how much they cost compared to the 3d ones. the pros and cons of each would be explored and how much the amputee likes or dislikes the cheaper alternative.
