Auto Cue

We looked at the Auto queue today which was quite interesting, it is an ingenius piece of kit which reflects a script infront of a camera lens, this means the presenter can look directly in the camera and read a script without looking down at a piece of paper or forgetting lines.

What is great about this is the text does not show up on the camera, whilst the presenter can see and read a wall of text the camera doesn't.

Live Report

In this workshop we also filmed a "live" interview, I wasn't on camera however as I was the one being interviewed, however that did give me an understanding of how it felt to be on the other side. I will take this feeling in mind when talking to an interviewee, trying my best to keep them calm and collected.

A problem we ran into however was keeping a straight face, It became difficult to keep composed at some parts of the interview which can be attributed to nervousness and the way our group works together as we are all friends it allows for a less professional workflow. This can be a good and a bad thing, it is good as we know how to work together well, Me, Gavin and George having worked together last year for our Documentary Project.

However the downside is that we could be distracted and unprofessional in appearance. This is something to keep in mind however I believe that in a real life scenario we would work extremely well and be professional.

Presenting

We also did a bit of presenting, with Jack reading from the auto cue, this went well apart from the fact we probably had the autocue going to fast for Jack to read which lead to several takes, before we film our news story we need to find Jacks reading speed.
